June is Kidney Awareness Month & we would like to take this time to announce to our kitty guardians that we now carry a new test for detecting kidney disease at its earliest onset. One of the main reasons we see cats is due to chronic renal (kidney) disease. Cats being secretive creatures, can mask symptoms until the disease has advanced. By the time we see the effects, the kidneys have already lost 75% of their function. This new simple test can detect kidney problems at a 30% loss. | What do my cat's kidneys do? Your cat's kidneys are not just filters, but perform a variety of jobs. Blood with waste products enters the kidneys where the waste products are filtered out of the blood & exit the body in the urine. Clean blood then returns to the body. |
